Fitness & Wellness
My love affair with fitness started as an overweight teenager, trying to lose weight and fit in, and has continued for close to 35 years. To this day I am up at 4.30am to hit the gym. I train 7 days a week, practice yoga, meditate, eat healthily and generally try to live naturally. I also complement my training schedule with activities such as hiking or mountain biking to keep me active and engaged with nature.
What started as a way to lose weight and fit in and later to help me excel and perform at a high level in my sporting pursuits such as rugby and surf boat rowing has gone on to become an integral part of my lifestyle. Fitness and wellness form the foundation for how I live each and every day and have been the secret for helping me to perform at my best in all areas of my life.
Beyond just a personal lifestyle choice I have also found the opportunity to incorporate my passion for fitness and wellness into my professional life. I have trained and worked as a personal trainer, managed a gym and acted as the fitness coach for a rugby club in the United States. I was also a co-founder in a fitness startup that delivered a Wellbeing group training program across Australia. I have co-authored two books, a fitness lifestyle manual and a healthy eating weight loss plan, as well as co-produced 4 fitness videos.
Fitness and wellness have been important elements of my life for the last 30 years and I can attest personally to their power in giving you the health and vitality you need to face life’s challenges and perform at your best. As an advocate for living a healthier and fitter lifestyle I will be sharing some of what I have learned over the last 30 years on my website The Legend Within and look to inspire others to incorporate fitness and wellness into their lifestyles.
